Abstract

In order to reasonably use the asphalt pavement recycling materials,this article would use a series of indoor experi-ment to design the cold recycled mixture of foam asphalt and evaluate its performance of rutting resistance.The best mix ratio and optimum foaming condition are determined as:foaming temperature:150~155 ℃;optimum foaming water dosage:3%;expansion ratio:16;half-life:9 s;optimum asphalt content:2.8%;optimum water content:3.81%.After conducting rutting test on the specimen,the results show that when the void fraction increases from 4.3%,5.0% to 6.1%,the rut depth also deepens from 1.63 mm,2.43 mm to 3.45 mm.It indicates that the increase of void fraction,and the gradual increase of rut depth with obvious increasing tendency would result in the reduction of rutting resistance,so the void fraction is suggested to be less than 5.0% in the design of foam asphalt cold recycled mixture.Based on the analysis of rutting test,this article suggests that the cold recycled mixture of foam asphalt should apply to the middle and lower layers of asphalt surface but not the upper layer.The study results provide theoritical reference for experiment on road of the cold recycled mixture of foam asphalt.
