Comparative Analysis of Growth, Development and Yield Characters and Allicin Contents of 12 Main Garlic Varieties

Abstract
The main growth and development characters and allicin content of 12 garlic cultivars with larger production area in our country were compared and studied.And the correlation analysis of agronomic characters with bulb quality were studied.The results showed that the bulb qualities of Liangcheng garlic,Xuzhou Purple garlic,Laiwu garlic,Jinxiang White garlic,Kouzhi garlic were higher than other varieties.The bolting qualities of Jiaxiang White garlic,Laiwu garlic,Xuzhou Purple garlic,Liuan garlic,Kouzhi garlic,Daming Purple garlic were higher than other varieties.Laiwu garlic,Xuzhou Purple garlic,Kouzhi garlic,Daming Purple garlic,Jiaxiang White garlic and Liuan garlic could be used as primary reference of bulb and sprout double-purpose varieties.The multivariate correlation analysis showed that the maximum leaf width,leaf area,plant weight,bulb diameter had higher correlation with bulb quality.The allicin contents of Yongnian garlic,Puke garlic,Sichuan garlic with soft leaves and Liangcheng garlic were higher than other varieties.The results could provide scientific basis for variety selection and processing and utilization.关键词
