摘要

Abstract

The thermal stability of polyethylene composites was studied by melt blending method. We mixed low density polyethylene(LDPE) with high density polyethylene(HDPE) according to a specific mass ratio in twin-screw extruder. The influence of same and different kinds of polyethylene and different ratio polymer blends on isothermal oxidation induction time(OIT),and melting behavior of two polyethylene blends were investigated by DSC. The results showed that the OIT of LDPE/HDPE blend was on the low side due to the nonuniform distribution of two components,but the OIT was directly proportional to the antioxidant content of HDPE/HDPE blend with better compatibility. Arrhenius equation which shows the relationship between the OIT and the aging temperature was established based on OIT measured under different temperatures. So it has certain practical significance that using Arrhenius equation to calculate polyethylene blends'life.
