摘要

Abstract

In order to solve the problem of interlayer failure of carbon fiber (CF)reinforced epoxy resin (EP)composites,the methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane (KH-570)modified iron oxide nanorods FeOOH and Fe2 O 3 were used to enhance the interlaminar fracture toughness of composites for first time.The double cantilever beam and end notched flexural tests were carried out to indicate the effect of the iron oxide nanorods on CF/EP composites model Ⅰ G ⅠC and model Ⅱ interlaminar fracture toughness G ⅡC .The interlaminar shear strength of the composites was tested by short beam shear (SBS)test.The results show that when the content of nanoparticles is 1% mass fraction of EP,the addition of iron oxide nanorods can sig-nificantly improve the interlaminar shear strength and fracture toughness of CF/EP composites.And the toughening effect of FeOOH is better than that of Fe2 O 3 .Among them,the interlaminar shear strength of FeOOH/CF/EP composites is 58.85 MPa,which is 41% higher than that of CF/EP composites.G ⅠC and G ⅡC of FeOOH/CF/EP composites are 0.685 kJ/m2 and 2.28 kJ/m2 ,which improves respectively 99% and 29% higher than that of CF/EP composites.
