Abstract
A stage 2 ferric chloride-graphite intercalation compound (FeCl3-GIC) was prepared by the technology of intercalation using metal chloride and graphite flake as raw materials .The structure and lithium storage properties of the FeCl 3-GIC compound were investigated by infrared spectrometer , X-ray diffraction , Raman spectrometer , and galvonastatic charge/discharge test .The results show that partial FeCl3 has been transferred to Fe 2 O3 during the preparation of FeCl 3-GIC.The FeCl3-GIC with expanded interlayer spacing exhibits a high initial capacity of 1220 mAh/g at a current density of 50 mA/g. Furthermore, FeCl3-GIC still remains a capacity of 355 mAh/g after 100 cycles at a current density of 200 mA/g.Therefore, the good lithium storage properties make FeCl 3-GIC promising as an anode material for lithium ion batteries .关键词
