Abstract

In order to demonstrate the vertical characteristics of dissolved organic matter in the Mariana Trench,waters from surface to deep layers were collected and analyzed for DOC and CDOM in January,2016.The results showed that DOC content ranged at 37.12~58.30 μmol · L-1,which was higher in the surface,and followed by that at 2 000 m.CDOM relative content,which was indicated by a(320),was higher with 0.48 m-1 in the 8 727 m,lower with 0.14 m-1 in the 4 000 m.The relative contents of CDOM from surface to 4 000 m layer followed a similar pattern with that of DOC,but opposite to that of DOC in layers deeper than 4 000 m.3 species of humic substances and 4 of protein-like components were detected based on CDOM fluorescence results.Fluorescence signals of protein-like components were stronger than those of humic substances.The vertical variations of CDOM fluorescence signals were controlled by higher primary production in surface water,reproduction and degradation of organic matter at 2 000 m layer,and further degradation and aggregation of stable organic chemicals in deep layers.
