摘要

Abstract

Amidases are ubiquitous enzymes,and hydrolyze the C-N bonds of amide compounds to produce corresponding carboxylic acids with release of ammonia. Amidases play important roles in fine chemicals synthesis, pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries due to their broad substrate spectrum and remarkable chemo-,regio-,and enantio-selectivity. Amidases can be assigned into two families according to their amino acid sequences:the amidase signature ( AS) family and the nitrilase superfamily. Here,we systematically review the advances in studying amidase structures and catalytic mechanisms,and describe their applications in pharmaceutical and agrochemical synthesis.
