Core Spatial Position Restoring of the CCSD-SK-2 East Borehole in the Songliao Basin of Northeast China

Abstract

The first continuous Cretaceous continental sedimentary record will be obtained by the CCSD-SK-2 east borehole in the Songliao Basin of northeast China.As the main borehole,SK-2 east borehole is drilled by no-directional coring technology to obtain continuous cores from Yingcheng Formation to Huoshiling Formation.In order to meet the requirements of higher precision scientific research,it is necessary to get the accurate information of original depth and orientation of cores.Based on the resistivity image logs and four typical features on core scanning images,core spatial position restoring is conducted by using imaging-core scanning picture processing software.Core spatial position restoring of third measuring intervals of the SK-2 east borehole is completed and the restoring results are rated.The results suggest that the number of quality rating above AA and AB is more than half,the depth localization of sand stone,conglomerate and igneous intervals is mostly accurate and the effectiveness of restoring in mudstone and argillaceous siltstone intervals is better.Correction error increases with depth in general,which is consistent with the actual rules.Results of core spatial position restoring facilitates the following geological analysis and scientific research.
