摘要
Abstract
Histological structure of the gonad and germ cell genesis of Bohai-red scallop, a hybrid of Argopecten irradians and Argopecten purpuratus, were investigated using paraffin biopsy technology. In general, Bohai-red scallop is a hermaphrodite species, but male sterile individuals are also occasionally seen. The gonad of Bohai-red scallop consisted of reproductive follicles, reproductive tubules, and reproductive ducts. The germ cells generated primarily from the follicle. Spermatogenesis in the Bohai-red scallop occurred through the following five phases: spermatogonium, primary spermatocyte, secondary spermatocyte, spermatid, and sperm. Oogenesis occurred through four stages comprising the oogonium, small growing oocyte, large growing oocyte, and mature oocyte.关键词
