摘要

Abstract

In order to improve the measurement accuracy for position,shape and size of defects in metal,a new pla-nar array electromagnetic sensor is designed. This sensor not only overcomes the insensitivity in the centre of sensing field,but also improves the versatility. As a result, the detection prediction of the electromagnetic sensor is improved. In this paper,the traditional scanning detection method and the new Electromagnetic tomography( EMT) detection method based on the new plane array electromagnetic sensor are used for metal defect detection. The sparse weighted algorithm is used to reconstruct the defect image in EMT detection method. Both simulation and ex-periments were conducted. The results show that the EMT method based on planar array sensor is suitable for recon-struction of metal defect image. The position,shape and size of the metal defect can be accurately detected.
