Short-term Efficacy of Zinc in Adjuvant Therapy of Children with Rotaviral Enteritis and Its Effect on Short-term Recurrence

Abstract
Objective To investigate short-term efficacy of zinc in adjuvant therapy of children with rotavirus en-teritis and its effect on short-term recurrence. Methods A total of 108 children with rotavirus enteritis admitted during February 2015 and December 2016 were divided into observation group (n=54) and control group (n=54) according to different treatment methods. Control group received routine treatment, while observation group was treated with zinc adju-vant therapy on the basis of treatment for control group. Short-term efficacy, duration times of clinical symptoms and con-ditions of short-term recurrence were compared in two groups. Results Times of clinical symptoms such as vomiting, fe-ver, diarrhea and dehydration correction in observation group were significantly shorter than those in control group ( P<0. 05). In observation group, the total effective rate was significantly higher, while incidence rates of recurrence and ad-verse reactions were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0. 05). Conclusion Zinc in adjuvant treatment of children with rotavirus enteritis can achieve good short-term efficacy, lower short-term recurrence rate and good safety.关键词
