Abstract

Preparation of 4,4′-diaminostilbene-2,2′-disulfonic acid (DSD acid) by catalytic hydrogenation was studied. The optimum technical conditions were as follows: 4,4′-dinitrostilbene-2,2′-disulfonicacid disodium salt 30 kg, H2O 109 kg, catalyst 164 g, reaction temperature 53~55 ℃ , reaction pressure 0.6~0.7 MPa. The catalyst could be used after regeneration and could be reused more than 25 times. The quality of the obtained products was qualified. The content of DSD acid was more than 97.5%, and the yield of product was more than 98.5%. The total amount of catalyst was 0.03% (to the quality of total raw materials). The new technology had advantages of simple and reliable operation, low cost, less wastes, environment friendly, which was suitable for industrial production.
