Abstract
Objective To explore the value of CT and MRI in the diagnosis of central nervous system infection.Method 116 cases of suspected central nervous system infection patients were detected by CT, MRI, cerebrospinal fluid and pathogen determination, and the diagnostic gold standard was determined by cerebrospinalfluid and pathogen. Compared the diagnostic results of CT and MRI respectively with the gold standard to evaluate the value of the two methods in the clinical diagnosis of central nervous system diseases. ResultAmong 116 patients, a total of 93 patients were diagnosed as central nervous system infection. The coincidence rate of CT diagnosis was 75.86%, the area under the ROC curve was 0.669 (P<0.05), meaning a large gap of diagnostic value existed between the results of CT diagnosis and diagnostic gold standard. The coincidence rate of MRI diagnosis was 93.97%, and the area under the ROC curve was 0.913 (P<0.01), meaning a very small gap of diagnostic value existed between the results of MRI diagnosis and diagnostic gold standard. The diagnostic rate of true positive of MRI was significantly higher than that of CT (P<0.01). There was no significantlydifference between gold standard, CT and MRI (P>0.05).Conclusion The diagnostic value of MRI for central nervous system infection is higher than that of CT. To improve the accuracy of clinical diagnosis, MRI can be preferred, but it can also combine with CT scan for specific lesions in necessity.关键词
