Novel Circularly Polarized Antenna for Universal UHF RFID Reader

Abstract
In view of the application requirements for universal UHF RFID reader antenna,a novel circular polarization(CP)design of broadband reader antenna for universal UHF(840 MHz~960 MHz)RFID applications is proposed. Antenna with planar slot patch structure to coplanar waveguide(CPW)feed achieves wide-band circular polarization characteristics. The measured 10 dB impedance bandwidth is 735 MHz~1 014 MHz,and the fractional bandwidth is 31.9%,S11<-20 dB within 840 MHz~960 MHz,the measured 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth is 838 MHz~1 134 MHz,and the fractional bandwidth is 30.0%,the operating band has a flat gain greater than 3.5 dBi.The simu-lation results are in good agreement with the measure results and the antenna structure is simple,easy to process,to meet the universal UHF RFID reader antenna application requirements.关键词
