摘要

Abstract

Foxtail millet is an important minor crop originated in China,and drought is one of the main factors restricting its yield and quality,though it is relatively drought tolerant.In order to better understand the mechanismof drought-tolerance in foxtail millet,the paper reviewed the research progress on the physiological and molecular mechanism of the drought-toler-ance in foxtail millet.In this paper,the response of different physiological indexes of foxtail millet to drought stress at differ-ent stages was introduced and the exploration result on molecular mechanism of drought tolerance on the levels of a single gene and transcriptome was reviewed.At the same time,this paper introduced the recent progress in rhizosphere microbes of foxtail millet in view of the evidence that rhizosphere microorganisms were related to drought tolerance.Finally,we pro-posed the research perspective of drought tolerance in foxtail millet.
