Effects and the economic threshold of Eupatorium adenophorum on the growth of Allium Ascalonicum

Abstract

[Objective]The goal of present study was to determine the economic injury level and economic threshold of E.ad-enophorum in shallot(A.ascakonicum)fields.[Methods]Effects of E.adenophorum on the yield of shallot were tested in the greenhouse.A series of seven different weed population densities were employed.The major growth factors as well as yield of shallots were measured,and collected data were analyzed by One-way ANOVA and Pearson correlation.Curve fit-ting models were produced.[Results]The results showed that the number of tillers and branches of shallots were continual-ly decreased with the increase of weed density.The accumulation of nutrient and water of E.adenophorum was increased and light penetration rate in shallot field was decreased with the increase of weed density.The shallot tillering and branch developing were significantly inhibited by 93.8% and 84.9%,respectively,when the weed density reached 60 plants per m2 with the shallot yield loss at 93.3 %.N,P,K content of E.adenophorum were 215.20 kg·hm -2,54.65 kg·hm- 2,and 356.60 kg·hm -2,respectively,when weed density reached 60 plants·m -2.Light penetration rate was 1.8% in 60 plants· m -2E.adenophorum treatment compared to 79.8% of CK treatment.[Conclusion]The power regression model(y=2.823 x1.069)was tested as the better model to fit the relationship between E.adenophorum density and yield loss of shallot.The economic injury levels of E.adenophorum were determined at 3.33 % or 0.32 % by manual weeding or applying glyphosate and the economic threshold were 1.17,and 0.13 plant·m -2,respectively.
