Abstract
The sensitivity of the conventional LPFG temperature sensor is low, which makes the use of LPFG temperature sensor limited in some areas requiring accurate temperature measurement. In order to solve this problem, this paper analyzes the sensitivity factors of LPFG temperature sensor theoretically, based on the theoretical analysis, the special polymer polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and epoxy resin are selected as core materi-als for sensitivity study. The simulation study shows that compared with the ordinary LPFG temperature sen-sor, in a certain temperature range, using epoxy resin as the core material of the optical fiber grating tempera-ture sensor with greater temperature sensitivity, temperature sensitivity can reach 37.8nm/℃at 25℃~30℃, e-quivalent to 16 times the common core LPFG fiber grating. This conclusion shows that using epoxy resin as core material can improve the sensitivity of LPFG temperature sensor, and further expand the application range of fiber grating sensor.关键词
