摘要

Abstract

Shortage of fresh water is a big problem currently and water extraction from air is an effective way to solve this problem. This review gives basic concepts and theoretical foundation of three unconventional techniques for water extraction from air (condensation, absorption/desorption and collecting fog). Research on adsorption materials and biomimetic materials is reviewed and the characteristics of three water extracting equipment are summarized. The development of high performance materials and design of integrated processes are key in related studies. Future prospects of water extraction from air are discussed.
