Energy-Efficient Control Method for Subway Train in Section with Long Heavy Down Grade

Abstract
On the basis of the standard four-stage energy saving control method,an improved energyefficient train control strategy is proposed to avoid the long time use of braking in sections with long heavy down grade,which is not favorable to energy saving.The sequence of driving regimes and their switching points are optimized to take full advantage of gravitational potential energy to accelerate train,hence the duration of traction and energy consumption is reduced.The decision variables are the end position of traction regime and the end position of the first cruising regime of the maximum traction force.The optimization objective for the improved model is the minimum traction energy consumption.A genetic algorithm with neighborhood search strategy and a Brute Force algorithm are applied to find the optimal solution.A comparison between the improved and traditional train control strategies is conducted to analyze the energy saving effect under different line conditions and running time.The result shows that,the improved strategy can realized an energy reduction by more than 30% compared with the standard four-stage control method when the train is running in the section with long heavy down grade under the speed limit of 80 km · h-1 and the given train working diagram (The proportion of the surplus time is 10% of the minimum running time in interval.).The energy saving effect of the improved control method is related to the slope condition,the speed limit of the line and the surplus running time.The efficiency of energy saving increases with the decrease of speed limit and running time.关键词
