Abstract
Lightweight metal stud/gypsum board partitions are widely used in building construction.Our focus is on the sound insulation effect of using these partitions.The influences of partition parameters,such as board thickness,number of layers, metal stud size and gauges, filling of absorbent in the cavity, and their different combinations, on the acoustic property of the partition elements are analyzed.The laboratory test results of different lightweight partitions have provided valuable data for selecting proper partitions and installations to meet certain acoustical requirements.Strategies of material selection and construction modification for improving the sound insulation of the partitions are discussed with experimental results.Some suggestions for partition design are therefore proposed.关键词
