Preliminary Analysis of Geological Characteristics and Genesis of the Shalawuruke Copper and Lead Deposit in the Northern Margin of Western Kunlun
摘要
Abstract
The Shalawuruke copper and lead deposit is one of the typical deposits in the northern margin of western Kunlun, where ore bodies are mainly hosted by Caledonian Alemaleke complex rock mass. The whole deposit is controlled by the Shalawuruke fault. Ore minerals are mainly composed of chalcopyrite, galena, pyrite and so forth. Cu and Pb grade of ore is relatively poor, with general Cu content from 0.50% to 1.33 (average 0.70%), and Pb content from 0.60% to 5.99% (average 0.90%). Total amount of rare earth (ΣREE) of copper-lead ore is 83.5×10 -6~122×10 -6,and relative to the surrounding rock(ΣREE is 257×10 -6~342×10 -6),which is significantly low. δEu and δCe of copper-lead ore is respectively 0.90~1.04 and 0.95~0.96,which shows that there is no Eu and Ce anomalies. From REE contents of ore-bearing rock series and distribution patterns we in-fer that ore-forming elements came from Alemaleke complex rock mass, especially the later porphyritic-like quartz monzonite or monzogranite, all of which belong to adakite rocks. The deposit type of Shalawuruke copper and lead deposit belongs to porphyry deposits, which is the product of Caledonian metallogenic events. It has a continental dynamic geologic process consistent with the formation of Caledonian copper-molybdenum deposit in the Datong area. It means that the original Tethyan ocean (or northern ocean of west Kunlun) was subducted southward, and then caused granitic magmatism and mineralization.关键词
