Abstract
Using high voltage DC circuit breakers (DCCBs) has become the key technology of establishing and developing multi-terminal DC power grid.So,we proposed a structure scheme of a new type of mechanical DC circuit breaker to overcome the deficiencies of traditional mechanical hybrid DC breaker,and analyzed its working principle.Based on the Nan'ao 160 kV VSC-HVDC transmission system,the PSCAD simulation model was built and the breaking simulation under different currents was carried out.Compared with the simulation results of traditional mechanical DC breaker,its technical characteristics and technical advantages of high breaking reliability and low voltage level of key parts were analyzed.A 20 kV DCCB prototype module has been built and 1.8~2.3 kA current breaking test results have verified the breaking principle of the topology.The simulation and test results prove that the coupling mechanical DC breaking scheme can reduce the voltage level of trigger switch and pre-charging device,ensure the reliability of bidirectional breaking,and achieve the unity of reliability and economy.关键词
