Effects of Multiple Sulfur Corrosion on Transformer Oil-paper Insulation Thermal Aging Properties

Abstract
Thermal aging tests at a temperature of 140 ℃ were carried out to study the effect of multiple sulfur corrosion on the thermal aging characteristics of oil-paper insulation system.Insulating paper,copper sheet and insulation oil with different concentrations of benzyl disulfide (DBDS),dibenzyl sulfide (DBS),and lauryl dodecyl mercaptan (DDM) were used in thermal aging tests and the corresponding characteristic parameters were obtained by regular sampling and tests.The results show that corrosive sulfur not only corrodes the copper sheet,but also accelerates the thermal aging of the oil-paper insulation system.The accelerating effect of multiple sulfur corrosion is not equal to the linear superposition of single sulfur corrosion promoting effect.The combination of DBDS and DBS has the strongest promoting effect on thermal aging of oil-paper insulation compared with other combinations of sulfides,resulting in obvious changes of the aging characteristics such as furfural,moisture,and acid value;furfural can be consumed by the mercaptan,which significantly inhibits the increase of furfural content in the oil.In summary,compared with the effect of single corrosive sulfur,the effect of multiple sulfur corrosion on thermal aging characteristics of transformer oil-paper insulation is more complex;empirical data using the mass concentration of furfural to assess the state of aging are not applicable in insulating oil samples in the presence of mercaptan.关键词
