Abstract

Based on Xinjiang Jianshan Magnesite, the effects of calcination temperature, soaking time, heating rate and particle size of Xinjiang Jianshan magnesite on the activity and purity of magnesia were studied through using two kinds of heating equipments(muffle furnace and microwave muffle furnace) and designing orthogonal experiments.The activity of magnesia was measured by the citric acid method and the content of activated magnesium oxide was measured by the hydrated method.The results show that calcination temperature is the most influential factor of activity and purity of magnesia, no matter what heating equipments are used.When microwave muffle furnace is used,the effects of soaking time, heating rate and particle size on the activity and purity of magnesia are smaller, and the preparation condition is wide.Especially when the particle size is not uniform, microwave muffle furnace is more beneficial to the preparation of light-burned magnesia.
