Investigation on the Adhesive and Sealing Material of Curtain Wall in Service for 20 Years

Abstract
In recent years,due to the curtain wall disrepair,or the adhesive and sealing materials quality problems and other reasons,adhesive and sealing material failure lead to the curtain wall damage,and even cause safety accidents,which has aroused the concern of the whole society for durability and safety of curtain walls.In order to study the durability of adhesive and sealing materials actual used in curtain wall,we investigate some curtain wall works in domestic representative city which have been in service for about 20 years,look over the condition and problems of adhesive and sealing material,and analyze the causes of the problem.The results shows:Most of the curtain wall adhesive and sealing materials in service for 20 years are still able to maintain a relatively good per formance.However,some adhesive and sealing materials' performance has declined,which is recommended to be timely maintenance.For the problems arise in the actual application of adhesive and sealing materials,there are four main reasons:improper design,improper selection,improper construction and improper maintenance.With the use of high-quality adhesive and sealing materials,reasonable design,standard construction,properly maintenance,high quality adhesive and sealing material can have 20 years or even more than 20 years of service life.关键词
