Abstract
Objective:The purpose of the present study was to investigate the expression and localization of GSK3β, p-GSK3β(Ser 9)and NF-κB p65 in the human chronic periapical lesions.Methods:Nineteen patients with chronic periapi-cal lesions and 6 cases of normal periapical tissue samples were collected.The histopathological changes of periapical lesions, and immunohistochemical analysis were observed to determine the presence of GSK3β,p-GSK3β(Ser 9)and NF-κB p65. Western Blot analysis were used to examine the protein of GSK3β,p-GSK3β(Ser 9)and NF-κB p65.Results:Composed of fibroblasts,inflammatory cells and new capillaries,It could be observed that a large amount of inflammatory cells infiltrate in the periapical lesions,such as lymphocytes,neutrophils and monocytes.From the immunohistochemical staining,GSK3β,p-GSK3β(Ser 9)and NF-κB p65 positive cells expressed in periapical lesions,and they are mainly expressed in inflammatory cells,endothelial cells and fibroblasts.Western Blot analysis revealed that compared with healthy periapical samples,the ex-pressions of GSK3β and NF-κB p65 protein were remarkable elevated in periapical lesions,the expression of p-GSK3β(Ser 9)protein also slightly increased.Conclusion:GSK3β,p-GSK3β(Ser 9)and NF-κB p65 can be observed in periapical le-sions,it is suggested that they may be involved in the development of chronic periapical periodontitis.关键词
