Study on Some Factors Affecting Paper's Citation Counts in Multi-journal Comparative Perspective

Abstract
[Purpose/Significance]At present there are some problems in the study of influencing factors of citation counts,neglecting the influence of journal influence and lack of periodical and interdisciplinary comparison. This paper explores the influencing factors of citation counts in different journals under the premise of influencing factors of journals, and summarizes common factors and comparative differ-ences.[Method/process] Based on 15 representative journals of different subject categories in the Web of Science database,the regression analysis method was used to test the 8 influencing factors of the papers.[Result/Conclusion] Under the premise of controlling the influen-cing factors of journals, the factors that influence the citation counts in the academic journals are different. The half-life of the reference has a significant negative impact on the cited counts in 15 journals,and the number of references is significantly positively correlated with the cited counts in most journals; the length of the paper can't affect the citation counts in all journals;other factors have different effects on the citation counts in different journals. Combined with the empirical results,the corresponding recommendations about how to use the external factors of the paper to produce high cited papers are put forward, and the rationality of using the citation counts to evaluate the quality of the paper is also discussed.关键词
