Family functions and marital quality in schizophrenic patients
摘要
Abstract
Objective To assess the family and marital status of schizophrenic patients,and the relationship between family-marriage quality and the recovery of patients.Methods The family and marriage condition were evaluated with Family Assessment Device (FAD) and Olson marital quality questionnaire (ENRICH) in 59 schizophrenic patients and their spouses.Results The scores of communication,roles,affective responsiveness,affective involvement,behavior control and general family function in patients were higher than norm (P ＜ 0.001).There were significant differences in affective responsiveness (P ＜ 0.05),affective involvement (P ＜ 0.01),behavior control (P ＜ 0.05)among patients with different education levels.The scores of personality compatibility of female patients (P ＜ 0.01) and their male spouses (P ＜ 0.001) were lower than norm.The Personal and Social Performance Scale (PSP) scores were negatively correlated with roles (P ＜ 0.05),affective responsiveness (P ＜ 0.01) and affective involvement (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion There are dysfunctions in 6 dimensions of family functioning in schizophrenic patients.The education level has an influence on family functions.The marital quality of the female patients and their spouses is poorer than norm.The social function of patients are closely related to family and marital status,thus to enhance family and marital quality may improve the social function and disease control in schizophrenic patients.关键词
