Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical value of breast-specific gamma camera imaging (BSGI) in breast cancer diagnosis.Methods The BSGI imaging data of 47 breast lesions from 46 female patients were retrospectively analyzed.All patients received BSGI 3 days before the surgery.740 MBq (20 mCi) 99mTc-sestamibi was injected intravenously,and images were taken 10 min after,at both the head-to-tail position and the medial lateral position.Image analyses were performed by both eye measure and semi-quantitative analysis methods,based on the lesion to non-lesion ratio (L/N).The result was compared with ultrasonography.Results Among the 47 breast lesions,16 were confirmed as benign lesions and 31 as breast cancer pathologically.Comparatively,BSGI correctly diagnosed 15 benign lesions and 30 breast cancer lesions,with one false positive result and one false negative result.Ultrasonography correctly detected 11 benign lesions and 27 breast cancer lesions,with 5 false positive results and 4 false negative results.As a result,the sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of BSGI were 96.8%,93.8%,95.7%,96.8%,93.8%,respectively;and the respective values for ultrasonography for breast cancer were 87.1%,68.8%,80.9%,84.4% and 73.3%.The values were significantly different between the two methods (all P < 0.01).Conclusion BSGI has higher sensitivity and specificity than ultrasonography in the detection of breast cancer.关键词
