摘要

Abstract

The electrode temperature characteristic of high intensity discharge(HID)lamp has a serious impact on the life of the lamp. The physical model of HID lamp is established on the basis of the analysis of the physical process and typical struc-ture of HID lamp. The simulation for the electrode temperature distribution of HID lamp is conducted. The validity of the model is verified by comparing with the temperature characteristic tested out by the experiment. More importantly,the relationship be-tween the structure of the electrode and the temperature distribution is obtained. The temperature of the electrode rises as its length increases and decreases as its radius increases. When the radius of the electrode is 0.3 mm and the length of the elec-trode is 20 mm,the electrode has appropriate temperature distribution. The research results have a high reference value for long and stable operation of HID lamp.
