Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effect of acupotomy on cervical spondylotic radiculopathy guided by TCM theory of meridian sinew(aponeurotic system).Methods:72 patients were randomly divided into the combined group(n =36) and the acupotomy group(n =36).The acupotomy group was treated with acupotomy guided by TCM theory of meridian sinew,once per week for two times;and the combined group was treated by traction and massage,once a day for ten times.The improvements of pain,other symptoms,and NDI score were observed and compared before and after the treatment in the two groups.Results:The scores of pain and NDI were reduced after the treatment in the both groups;they were much lower in the acupotomy group (1.49 ± 0.36,11.73 ± 3.61) than those in the combined group(2.98 ± 0.57,15.64 ±4.38),and the differences were statistically significant(P ＜0.05).There was significant difference between the acupotomy group and the combined group,in terms of Tanaka symptom scale.It was increased more in the acupotomy group(17.43 ± 3.76),compared to that in the combined group(12.39 ± 5.08),with statistically significant difference (P ＜0.05).The total effective rate was 97.2％ in the acupotomy group,which was significantly higher than 83.3％ in the combined group(P ＜0.05).There was no statistical difference in incidence of adverse reaction between the acupotomy group and the combined group(P ＞ 0.05).There were no adverse incidents,such as acupotomy fracture,spinal cord injury,or vertebral artery injury in the acupotomy group.Conclusion:The therapy of acupotomy guided by TCM theory of meridian sinew could effectively alleviate pain and other clinical symptoms in patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy,its curative effect was significantly higher than the therapy of traction combined with massage.关键词
