摘要

Abstract

Knowing the time at which the termochromic liquid crystal (TLC) changes color,then the heat transfer coefficient can be calculated applying the analytical solution of one-dimensional semiinfinite plate hypothesis transient heat conduction.However,this process disregards lateral-conduction error,so this paper analysis theoretically the error caused by lateral heat conduction due to temperature distribution on the surface.Also the results from one-dimensional plate hypothesis and the corrected results are compared and analyzed.When the non-dimensional excess temperature ranges between 0.44 and 0.55,and using narrow band TLC to measure the heat transfer coefficient on the disk between non-dimension radius of 0.77 ~ 0.94,the error due to lateral heat conduction would be controlled within 1.5%.
