Accumulation Conditions of Tight Sandstone Gas in the Lower Shihezi Formation in Linxing A Area, Ordos Basin

Abstract
This study discusses the source rock,reservoir,rock,cap rock and structural activity of Lower Shihezi Formation of Linxing A area in Ordos Basin based on numerous geochemical data and reservoir analysis.The study results show that the accumulation conditions of the Lower Shihezi Formation of Linxing A area are quite good for the formation of large-scale tight sandstone gas reservoirs.The widely distributed source rock mainly contains type Ⅱ2 and Ⅲ organic matters,and is characterized by large thickness,high total organic carbon content,high maturity and strong hydrocarbon generation capability.While the tight sandstone reservoir of the Lower Shihezi Formation is heterogeneous,generally with low porosity and permeability and high porosity-permeability zone developed partially.The mudstone in the Upper Shihezi Formation and the source rocks are good for the preservation of tight sandstone gas reserovoir providing favorable conditions for the development of the reservoir as it yields large-scale gas generation from source rock and structural faults as migration paths.The occurrence of peak gas expulsion from Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous and the occurrence of densification of the reservoir form Late Triassic to Middle Jurassic demonstrate a favorable time series for the formation of tight sandstone gas reservoirs.The source rocks and widespread reservoirs are closely connected,and the gases accumulate in the sandstone body under the force of gas expansion and stored in reservoirs due to the time series.关键词
