Abstract

The formulas for calculating the sensitivity coefficients of design constrains (period and stroy drift) to member material costs were derived,and the combination sort method for structural optimization under double constraints was proposed.The recommended formulas and constant incremental sensitivity analysis method were applied on the sensitivity analysis of a two-story plane frame,and the results were compared.Finally,a super tall building structure was optimized using the proposed method.It's revealed that the results of the proposed formulas and constant incremental sensitivity analysis method are consistent,which verifies the accuracy of the proposed formulas.Meanwhile,in the optimization,when the material cost change of each member group is controlled within 10%,the sensitivity coefficient can be regarded as constant.In the initial phase of optimization,the changing rate of design constraints is slow.But when the optimization of insensitive member groups is complete,the sensitive member groups will be optimized,as a result of which,the changing rate of design constraints will become faster.In the process of optimization,the maximum story drift will appear in different stories.More stringent limit of story drift can be used in order to control the actual magnitude of inter-story drift within the specification limit.
