Abstract
"Middle qi" stems from spleen and stomach which are the pivot for qi 's ascending and descend-ing. "Deficiency of middle qi" leads to disorder of qi's ascending and descending,deficient generation of qi and blood,manifesting as various diseases. Nephrotic syndrome is characterized by severe proteinuria,hy-poproteinaemia,edema and hyperlipemia,which are closely related to "deficiency of middle qi". Deficiency of middle qi will lead to disorder of spleen and stomach's ascending and descending,transportation and trans-formation,disorder of descending and descending of the clear and turbid,manifesting as proteinuria;external contraction of dampness leads to blockage of spleen yang ,or spleen qi deficiency leads to spleen failing to transport and internal accumulation of water and dampness ,both manifesting as edema;spleen in deficiency leads to failing to disperse essence,and accumulation of body fluids,manifesting as phlegm,also known as hyperlipidemia in western medicine. For the treatment of nephrotic syndrome ,middle qi should be empha-sized,to ensure sufficient middle qi,which can enable sufficient middle qi,normal transportation and transfor-mation of spleen and stomach,harmonized ascending and descending of the clear and turbid. By this way, the clinical symptoms could be relieved.关键词
