摘要

Abstract

Microalgae are unicellular species which are capable of performing autotrophic photosynthesis.They possess high carbon-fixation capacity,fast growth rate,and short life cycle,and play a crucial role in global energy conversion and carbon cycle system.Microalgal resources and microalgal biotechnology have been widely used in various indus-tries,such as food manufacture,aquaculture,medicine and cosmetics,wastewater treatment,bioenergy,biochemical en-gineering,and bio-manufacturing industries.The present paper was focused on the theme"microalgal biotechnology promotes functional agriculture",and highlighted the effects of microalgal biotechnology progress,comprehensive de-velopment of microalgal resources,and their applications on energy security,environmental protection,food security, and human healthcare in the world.In addition,approaches and methods for improving the innovation-driven develop-ment of functional agriculture and agricultural supply side reform with microalgal biotechnology were discussed.
