Effect of cerium on Co/γ-Al2O3catalysts for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis

Abstract
The Co/γ-Al2O3catalysts promoted by different amounts of Ce were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation and characterized by N2adsorption, XRD, H2-TPR, CO-TPD and H2-TPD, and their catalytic performances in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis were tested in a fixed-bed reactor.The results show that Ce promoter can improve the reducibility and enhance the adsorption of CO and H2on the catalyst surface, and thus improve the catalytic performance. When the content of Ce was 3% by mass, the catalyst had optimal performance. Under the reaction conditions: 220℃, 2MPa, GHSV of 1000h-1and H2/CO molar ratio of 2.0, CO conversion and C5+selectivity could reach 84.20% and 74.38%,respectively.关键词
