Baseline Survey of Brucellosis in Sheep and Goats in Changsha City of Hunan Province

Abstract
In order to recognize the epidemic situation of Bruellosis in Changsha City,adopting the general survey strategy for the milk and breeding goat and sheep farms(households),and two-stage sampling strategy for other sheep farms(households),serum samples were collected from the selected individuals of selected goat and sheep herds and the antibodies against Brucellosis were detected. At the same time,the risks of Brucellosis infection and transmission were analyzed according to questionnaires and consulting data. The results showed that the estimated apparent prevalence of Brucellosis in sheep was 1.54%(95% CI:0.42%-3.91%)at herd level and 0.60%(95%CI:0.43%-0.80%)at individual level. Four positive groups were all distributed in Changsha County and Ningxiang County. Compared with the previous monitoring data,the prevalence rate of Brucellosis and the incidence in human decreased,showing that positive results were achieved by the previous control strategy. On the whole,the epidemic situation of Brucellosis is in stable control in Changsha City now,and Brucellosis eradication could be gradually realized by the sub-regional strategy.关键词
