Abstract
In the history of exploring safe extended hepatectomies,ALPPS (associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy) represents a significant breakthrough in this field.Currently,there are great controversies over the quality of the future liver remnant (FLR),indications,safety,standard techniques and outcomes of ALPPS.Nonetheless,ALPPS is not a gamble for innovation' s sake but creating opportunities to perform operations safely and effectively for some patients.关键词
