Abstract
Objective The aim of this research is to report an overview of bariatric/metabolic surgery performed from 2012 to 2016 in Shanghai.Methods The study of evaluating the number and the type of bariatric/metabolic procedures was performed in Shanghai.Demographic characteristic,surgical procedure variation trendency and complications from 2012 to 2016 were also analyzed.Results All sixteen hospitals provided the surgical data (100％).Most of patients were female,with mean age decreasing in 5 years.The total number of surgery procedures were 1599,with 601 males and 998 females,middle age was 32 years old.The most commonly performed procedure in Shanghai was Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) in 2012-2013.Since 2014,Sleeve gastrectomy (SG) became the most commonly procedure.The number of SG in 2014 was 214 (68.4％) in 2014,285 (70.4％) in 2015 and 483 (75.5％) in 2016.Mean surgical time decreased with no mortality.Total complication rate was 32.％.Conclusion Metabolic and bariatric surgery performed in Shanghai increased year by year,with more hospital participated.The SG was the main procedure performed in Shanghai at present.关键词
