Abstract

In order to clarify differences of glandular trichome secretions between different tobacco genotypes and to screen tobacco varieties with higher trichome secretions, 12 tobacco varieties were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC/MS) in this study. Results showed that cembratrien-diols (CBT-diols) were the main cembranoids among tested varieties, and the content of CBT-diols of flue-cured tobacco was relatively higher. All tested varieties contain - and -cembratrien-diols, and the content ratio of - to-cembratrien-diols was 1.58~2.32. Five types of sucrose esters were detected, and the tested varieties were divided into two groups according to quality and quantity of sucrose esters: varieties of group one contain higher Ⅰ-Ⅱ and varieties of group two contain higherⅢ-V types of sucrose esters. In general, Basma, Beinhart1000-1, Honghuadajinyuan, BX1 and BX2 have more glandular secretions and can be further used in tobacco breeding and extraction of tobacco leaf surfactants.
