Abstract
High spatial resolution Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)is a kind of advanced and all-weather and day-and-night imaging microwave remote sensor,which can play a special role in islands monitoring.This paper summarized the imaging principle and international application de-velopment of high spatial resolution SAR,and application of high resolution SAR in small island identification and monitoring of island development engineering was showed intuitively by analy-zing the characteristics of islands and reefs on high spatial resolution SAR images.Especially,the method of distinguishing small islands from ships in high spatial resolution SAR images was pres-ented.At the same time,the suggestion of combining high spatial resolution SAR image with me-dium spatial resolution optical image was proposed.The results will contribute to the island pro-tection management and monitoring in China.关键词
