摘要

Abstract

Blackflie (Diptera:Simuliidae),the vector of the causal agent of human onchocerciasis and the second leading cause of infectious blindness,is an important medical and veterinary insect.It is difficult to use traditional taxonomy based on morphology for rapid and accurate identification because of structural homogeneity in blackflies.DNA barcoding,an emerging organism identification method,has been widely used in blackflies for higher sensitivity,accuracy and objectivity.This paper reviews the appearance and development of DNA barcoding in blackflies.Meanwhile,the methods and key questions of DNA barcoding to identify blacklies are also discussed.
