Core Competency Framework for Clinical Teachers of Master of Nursing Specialist

Abstract
Objective To construct a core competency framework for clinical teachers of master of nursing specialist and to improve the quality of postgraduate education. Methods We preliminarily constructed the core competency indicators after literature review and group discussion,then we used Delphi method to determine the final indicators. Results The effective response rate of the two rounds of expert consultation was 91.7% and 90.9% respectively; the expert authority coefficients were 0.876 and 0.890, respectively;and the coordination coefficient showed statistical significance(all P<0.01).The final core competency framework consisted of 5 first-l evel and 17 second-level indicators. The weight was 0.210 for the clinical nursing ability, 0.209 for the scientific research ability, 0.208 for the clinical education ability, 0.189 for the nursing management ability and 0.184 for the professional development ability. ConcIusion The core competency framework for clinical teachers helps to provide a reference for the development of nursing postgraduate education and the improvement of its quality,as well as to accelerate the development of clinical teachers as well.关键词
