Correlation between Readiness for Hospital Discharge and Quality of Discharge Guidance among Postpartum Women

Abstract
Objective To explore the status quo of the readiness for hospital discharge and the quality of discharge guidance in postpartum women, and analyze their correlation. Methods We conducted a cross-sectional study and 192 postpartum women were investigated before discharge in 5 Class Ⅲ hospitals in Luoyang using general information questionnaire, readiness for hospital discharge scale and quality of discharge guidance scale. Correlation between Readiness for Hospital Discharge and Quality of Discharge Guidance among Postpartum Women was analyzed by Pearson correlation test. Results The total score of readiness for hospital discharge was 92.21 ±15.47, and the mean score of each dimension 7.68 ±1.29. The total score of quality of discharge guidance was 154.96±21.91, and the mean score of each dimension 8.61±1.22. There was positive correlation between the readiness for hospital discharge and the quality of discharge guidance in postpartum women(r=0.309,P<0.001). Conclusion The readiness for hospital discharge in postpartum women keeps in medium level and it is positively correlated with the quality of discharge guidance. Medical staff should strengthen discharge guidance and provide more specific nursing interventions to improve the readiness and postpartum recovery of postpartum women and ensure the maternal and child health.关键词
