Study on Isothermal Crystallization Kinetics and Crystal Morphology of Modified Polypropylene with α Nucleating Agent

Abstract
The isothermal crystallization kinetics and crystal morphology of Polypropylene (PP) modified by α nucleating agent (2 benzene methylene sorbitol) with various content were investigated by DSC,POM and XRD.The results show that crystallization rate of PP and modified PP decrease when isothermal crystallization temperature rises,α nucleating agent can improve the crystallization rate of PP at high temperature,but it is not obvious at low temperature.As temperature rises,the crystal growth pattern and morphology of PP and PP with 0.2% α nucleating agent have changed from lamella to complete spherulites,but the increase of α nucleating agent content can inhibit the change of crystal morphology,indicating the crystallization rate can control the morphology.PP with 0.4% α nucleating agent has the fastest rate for isothermal crystallization,the smallest grain and the best nucleation effect.关键词
