广州市社区慢性病健康教育工作人员开展健康教育工作的影响因素及工作满意度调查研究
Associated Factors for Delivering Health Education Interventions and Job Satisfaction among Community Chronic Disease Health Educators in Guangzhou

Abstract
Objective To investigate the associated factors for delivering health education interventions and job satisfaction in community chronic disease health educators in Guangzhou. Methods In this cross-sectional study conducted between January and March in 2017, using stratified clustering sampling, we enrolled community primary care providers (including general practitioners, public health doctors, and general nurses) responsible for chronic disease health education from 5 community health service centers and 50 community health service stations in Haizhu, Yuexiu district (developed areas) and Tianhe, Baiyun, Liwan district (urban fringe areas) in Guangzhou, China. Then, we carried out a questionnaire survey in the participants for obtaining their demographic characteristics, self-assessed associated factors for delivering chronic disease health education, subjects responsible for chronic disease health education, and job satisfaction. Results Of the 270 participants enrolled, 255 returned responsive questionnaires (121 from developed areas and 134 from urban fringe areas) with a response rate of 94.4%. The distribution of sex, educational level, professional and technical title, employment status, and monthly income differed significantly between participants from developed areas and those from urban fringe areas (P<0.05). All the participants agreed that lack of funding and equipment, insufficient support from responsible social institutions, policies and leaders, and insufficient residents' participation were the main factors for delivering health education interventions. In terms of major subjects responsible for delivering chronic disease heath education, participants from developed areas listed centers for disease prevention and control, health administrative departments, and community health service institutions, whereas those from urban fringe areas listed centers for disease prevention and control, health administrative departments and hospitals. The levels of satisfaction with working conditions, salary, and work competency were much lower in participants from urban fringe areas compared with those from developed areas (P<0.05). Conclusion The structure of the staff for delivering community chronic disease health education should be modified. Moreover, the factors affect the health education delivery should be improved, such as intensifying the perceptions of community chronic disease health education in the major responsible subjects, and advancing the level of job satisfaction in community chronic disease health educators from urban fringe areas by improving their working conditions and salary.关键词
