Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between serum soluble suppression of tumorigenesis 2 (sST2), N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and cardiac function in the elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) combined with cor pulmonale heart failure. Method 80 elderly patients with COPD combined with cor pulmonale heart failure in Hunan General Hospital from June 2015 to October 2016 were selected as experimental group. In addition, 40 healthy volunteers in that hospital were collected as control group. The levels of sST2, NT-proBNP, lipid, and renal function indexes were detected. Result The levels of serum sST2 and NT-proBNP of experimental group were significantly higher than those of control group (P<0.05), the levels of sST2 and NT-proBNP were increased with the increase severity of heart failure. The levels of NT-proBNP and sST2 were positively correlated with the classification of cardiac function (r = 0.875, P < 0.05; r = 0.796, P < 0.05). In addition, sST2 and NT-proBNP were respectively correlated with lipid and renal function at the certain extent. Conclusion Serum levels of sST2 and NT-proBNP in patients with COPD combined with cor pulmonale heart failure increase with the increase of heart failure severit, and have certain correlation with renal function and blood lipid, which is helpful to the diagnosis and prognosis of senile COPD combined with cor pulmonale heart failure.关键词
