Abstract

In order to study the service life prediction method of concrete structure with hybrid reinforcement of GFRP bars and steel bars, based on the service life prediction feature of plain concrete and reinforced bars, GFRP bars in concrete environment, the structure service life prediction method under the influence of concrete durability and GFRP and steel bars area ratio was discussed and the service life prediction model of hybrid reinforced concrete structure was proposed. The proposed prediction model was used to analyze the service life of the hybrid reinforced T beams. Results show: the service life of the hybrid reinforced concrete structure is determined by three kinds of materials of the concrete, steel bar and GFRP bar, and with the difference of the concrete durability and reinforcement ratio, the service life of the overall structure is also different. When the concrete durability is poor, the structure service life is decided by the concrete durability; When the durability of concrete is better, the structure service life is determined by the different area ratios and the service life of the steel bars and GFRP bars in the concrete environment; The prediction model can be used to evaluate the residual service life of the hybrid reinforced concrete structures and the decision making of maintenance and reinforcement.
