Study on seismic intensity attenuation law in Jiangsu and its adjacent areas

Abstract
Since the difference of focal character, media and site, seismic intensity law is different in regions. In this paper, collecting 120 isoseismal lines from 59 earthquakes which occurred during the year of 1937 to 2015 in Jiangsu and its adjacent areas, and measuring the major and minor axis radius of isoseismal line, the seismic intensity attenuation law in study areas is obtained by using ellipse intensity attenuation model and the multiple stable regression method. The result is compared with that given by Wang Suyun and also checked with the real isoseismal lines from earthquakes which have occurred in the past few years. The result shows that the obtained seismic intensity attenuation law is well fitted with the real isoseismal lines and it has strong reliability in the range of MS less than 6.0 and the epicentral distance less than 300 km. The result not only improves the earthquake disaster assessment and assistant decision system in Jiangsu Province but also has wide significance in seismic risk analysis and other areas.关键词
